Ireland is the home of Halloween and the jack-o-lantern, but before the tradition travelled to America we didn’t use pumpkins!
Traditionally made with turnips rather than pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns or ‘Ghost Turnips’ have been part of our Halloween traditions for hundreds of years.
Artist Caoimhe Dunn has been exploring Irish festival Traditions and calendar customs and you can join her and learn how to carve a traditional jack-o-lantern!
